Engr. Adeyemi Afolayan Alabi

Engr. Adeyemi Afolayan Alabi is an Early Stage Researcher within the Marie Skłodowska-Curie ITN project “ WinGrid”, who is under the supervision of Prof. Bikash Pal in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Imperial College London. He is a proactive, self-motivated and enthusiastic electrical engineer with years of experience working on electrical power systems and in the energy sector. He is a registered member of Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and he recently worked as an Electrical Engineer at the Bureau of Electrical Engineering Services of Ogun State, Nigeria. There, he designed, constructed and performed overseeing functions on the distribution and transmission of electricity within the state. He also has working experiences in the design, installation and maintenance of Solar Photovoltaic Energy Systems for residential and commercial buildings. He is knowledgeable and passionate about the entire spectrum of sustainable energy systems right from its generation to its final destination – the consumer. His research interests are in the following areas: Wind farm modelling and control; Grid integration of distributed renewable energy resources; Power system optimization and control; Hybrid Renewable Energy Systems (HRES), Energy Storage Systems (ESS); Solar photovoltaics; Power system economics and; Efficient energy distribution and transmission systems. Through the years, he has taken online courses, read technical cashiers, guides and papers, used software tools like PVSyst, Homer Pro, RetScreen and MATLAB, and carried out researches, and published papers in these areas of interest.
